Side-by-side cartridge
This type of cartridge consists of two cylindrical tubes arranged side-by-side, connected to each other and terminating in a coaxially designed head piece ("tube-in-tube design"). One tube contains component A (A-tube) and the second tube contains component B (B-tube); both tubes are closed with corresponding pistons.
The 2-component cartridge is extruded with a special extruding gun, via a static spiral mixer. This special squeeze gun, whose dimensions are matched to the diameter and volume of the 2-component cartridge, has a linkage adapted to the parallel, "side-by-side" arrangement of the A and B tubes of the cartridge, with push plates at each end.
During the squeezing process, the gun linkage simultaneously pushes in the axial direction into both the A and B tubes, whereby the components A and B located in each tube are simultaneously conveyed out of the cartridge and homogeneously mixed via the static spiral mixer screwed onto the cartridge.
